ZED VISION & MISSION

Zero Emission Design

ZED (Zero Emission Design) envisions a carbon neutral and prosperous world and aims to eliminate transportation-related GHG emissions in African cities while creating economic empowerment.

ZED is a California/Africa based company with the dual objective of improving livelihoods in African communities and mitigating climate change by eliminating carbon emissions generated by petrol-powered motorcycles. ZED is increasing the net earnings of motorcycle taxi and delivery service riders while lowering their carbon footprint. ZED does this by switching 2/3 wheelers to electric; one country at a time.

ZED MISSION

Accelerate Africa’s transition to eMobility.

ZED designs, manufactures, locally assembles, and leases out electric 2/3 wheelers and offers battery-as-a-service via a network of battery swapping/charging stations.

ZED has committed to switching 5% (35,000) of the 700,000+ registered Petrol ICE taxi motorcycles in Cotonou, Benin to Electric by 2029.

ZED is led by Co-Founders, Olou Koucoi and Kristin Strong, who oversee a management team that brings extensive experience and complimentary expertise in engineering, electric vehicle operations, solar energy systems, strategic planning, public policy, and financial management.

The team is committed to driving sustainable change and innovation in the electric mobility sector.
